larkspur is a grassroots, artist-led, wellbeing-first, female-focused record label and events company that does things a little differently from the traditional music industry.
why larkspur?
Larkspur is a type of flower that represents optimism, open-heartedness and devotion. Choosing a flower for our name links to Plant Shop Sessions, our original event series, as well as representing the femininity of a label that aims to champion FLINTA artists. Larkspurs also grow tall, setting themselves apart from other flowers in the garden, representing our commitment to doing things differently as a label.
what makes us different?
Honest and open communication. Prioritising what works over whats cool. Putting collective effort and mutual recognition before ego. Bringing people together - in real life. Escaping the algorithm. Consistently creating. Being collaborative, well organised, and respectful advocates for one another.
There is no point in participating in the joy of making music if it comes at the cost of burnout, inauthentic networking, constant feeding of the ruthless algorithmic gods, and a lack of connection to a real audience.
We are building a small collective of artists, creatives and organisers to quietly reshape our own corner of the music industry.
